Forum URL: mevowners.proboards.com/
Not sure if this is a change in functionality or not with the latest version of proboards or I might be simply missing something.
Is it possible to make the adding of attachments, board specific? Seem to remember it was a function available in Board Properties but not there now.

It indeed was an option before, but no longer. I will mark this as a feature request, and see if it is possible to add that back.

It's a real problem, for me at least Is there anyway the feature request can be expedited and if so can you possibly give me a date when / if, it will be available again.
Thank you

I personally cant. But when the staff reply they may.
If you want something urgently, you could request a plugin. The only problem with that is that a plugin wont affect mobile browsers.

Cheers for the clarification. Large part of the community are mobile users so plugin not really an ideal option.
Just keep my fingers crossed the 'staff' pick up on it.
Many thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated.

Hi sonic7, All we can do is confirm that it's added as a feature request now. Unfortunately our developers have a pretty big work load at the moment, so we can't guarantee a specific date for when it can be expected. You can keep an eye on our development blog though, as new features that are added will be announced there

Thanks for the response, appreciate that's it got to take its place in the que. Was there a particular reason it was removed as a feature? On second thoughts don't bother to answer, Ill keep an eye on the development blog and my fingers crossed.

I can't say for sure, since that decision would have been made a couple of years ago by now. But I've been helping in support since 2010 and do remember that there were a few complaints from people who wanted to disable attachments entirely on their forum and didn't like the fact that they had to go in and individually disable it for every board on their forum; especially if they had a good number of boards on the forum. So that likely played a role in why it is the way it is now. With the above said though, I don't see why we wouldn't be able to make the two co-exist. Such as possibly listing each board on the manage attachments page allowing you to check a box next to the board names that you want to enable attachments for. Something like that

Mmmm.. Just checked our Forum and the last time I had to use the facility was Sept 2013. Currently working on a restructure of the forum for next year and although we have a good number of boards it dose allow for essential flexibility, shame I missed that discussion.
I do hope the two can co-exist along the lines you propose, fingers crossed
