Hello. I have been running a forum for a little over a year now with no problems. It was bound to happen at some point, so here I am on your support board. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help.
My problem. I am trying to change my forum banner (forum logo) as I often do. From the theme manager, on the "forum logo" section of the images tab of the theme settings I choose "upload", then "choose existing" and select the banner image. It tries to upload the image, but instead of success I get a pop up saying "Invalid request token / possible request forgery (error 1). If you received this message in error, please go back, refresh, and try again.". Of course I tried to refresh the page and tried again with the same results.
Some details that may help. According to the security logs, my other two admins have not changed anything recently, nor have I other than the banner. The image I am changing to was in use just days ago. I change the banner regularly, so it is not something I am unfamiliar with or a problem with the image itself. I got this problem a couple of days ago when changing the banner, but at that time refreshing the page solved it. Today however, refreshing the page, restarting the browser, restarting the device, trying a different device, trying a different browser, trying a different image, resetting the banner to the default setting, trying a different image file type and praying to the powers that be have not solved it. I have tried everything I know how to try. Sadly I do not know the first thing about html or css. I am afraid I will break something if I poke around any deeper than I have into the forums operation.
I suspect it it may be that the forum itself is the problem. I wish I could restart the virtual machine it is on, but that is beyond my power. Anyone have any advice that may help me get our chosen banner back in its proper place atop our forum?
I have managed to circumvent the issue by posting the logo image I want to use on the forum in a post and linking to it using the "Link" option instead of "upload". I am still curious as to why the upload method I normally use won't work.
EDIT:
I just found I get a similar issue trying to upload a forum avatar. Same error message but in the upload/link pop up window. I tried to circumvent my avatar problem by linking instead of uploading like I did with the forum logo, but the link option for avatar is not working. I put the link in the blank for it and tap "Link image" but nothing happens. No error, no anything. The window just sits there. So odd.
