"Talking" Diamond?

This may be a bit out there, but would it be possible to put eyes onto the logo of my forum and put a speech bubble with it that talks about our motto?

At the moment, I have this in the header of my forum:



But I got to thinking: "Wouldn't it be cool to animate my diamond (with eyes and a mouth and so on) and make it 'speak' so it can 'talk' about our motto?"



Above is my logo - 500x500px.

Would it be possible to animate it and put the speech bubble with it?

Animations can be very complex or very simple.

I've done a simple one as complex will take more time than I can devote to it.

Will this text be too much for an lamination?

Now that diamond and bubble are 250px height and width. How tall is the area you're going to place it in?

I was going to attempt to place it in my header, but I'm going to place it in my Welcome to Psychic Psyghtings! thread if it's good big for the header. I was going to replace the text and bordered-box that I have in there to declutter the header, but I think it'd be too big.

I can't think of how big the header is, but I didn't change the height of it or anything like that. It's 90% in the Theme Creator area.

I just checked the height of your banner. It's 110px. That will never work. I could make the animated diamond that small and it would be ok and look clever there. But not with all of the other things you have in the banner. It would be cluttered.

And with all of the copy you want, it would look better at 500px, but I have no idea where it would be usable at that size.

I was going to remove the box with text that I have up there because, you're right, it does look cluttered. I put that up before I had the idea of the animated diamond "talking" about the motto, anyway. I just haven't been around to taking that part down.

So do you need anything more? Do you want a smaller animated diamond without the speech bubble that would go above your login/register if you remove that container above it?

I assume that you're talking about the text, right? (Just wanted to ask to be doubly sure because I thought I had removed that. I think I forgot to hit save... Thank you!)

This is about as small as I can make it and have it retain it's proper look. It's 100x100px.


I also reduced it to 75x75px, but it loses some of its integrity. I'll give you that size, too, just in case you can find some use for it ~ like above your login/register area.

Thank you for both sizes. I can see what you mean by how the second one loses some of its integrity. I wonder if the one on the left will fit it. I mean, since you said that my banner was 110px. But I guess that I have to account for the login text and such.

That's why I made the one at 100x100. It will fit into your banner but not on top of the login and register. You can move the login more to the left and then place the diamond after it.

And who knows? The smaller one may look great above the login/register right where it is now. Only you know that it's not the same look of the larger one. No one else will know that.
