How to customize the look/theme of an individual section?

I'm very excited that our forum will soon be adopting another online community and giving them their own section of the site.  Beyond headers and footers, is there a way to customize the look and feel of a specific section of the site?  Can it have a different background, maybe even different thread icons?  


This is the section in question.  As it is not "live" yet, it won't be visible to a normal guest or registered user: 


classiccomics.boards.net/board/44/usagi-yojimbo-dojoboard-forum

Hiya shaxper .

You can change exactly those things in the footer for that board. Simply add these changes, along with updated urls, of course,
to the header. These two selectors change the background and the thread icons respectively.

<style>

body{background-image:url("URL_HERE");}

p.sub-boards>a:before{content:url("URL_HERE");}

</style>

Background worked perfectly! I need more help with the icons though, as I realize what I need is a little more complex than what I asked for.

That got me half way there (thank you!)

Now I just need to be able to replace the icons for actual threads (both on and off).

So, to be clear, in the individual sections of the sub-forum, I want to customize the thread icons but do not seem to be able to do so either through the code you have me at first or through the plug in.

Sorry to be such a bother, but I'm almost there!

shaxper Ah I see, I'm sorry. Yeah, looks like you'll need a request for a Header & Footer code -- since it's more than one thread icon for the board -- to place on the top of your board. You can request help here: support.proboards.com/board/55/headers-footers
