Promoting on facebook

hey

i just created a page on facebook to try and promote the kpop forum i created last month.
truth is, i know nothing about facebook. i have never used it before and i did not have a facebook profile until now...
so i got 0 friends on facebook to share the page with.

what i will do soon is 
try and put it out there on the homepage of the forum, so people can see the forum has its own facebook page and they hopefully will like/share it

but what else can i do (free) to promote the page to hopefully attract more fans to the forum eventually?

should i just build up my profile account first and try get fans to friend me or something?
i do not however want to make the profile personal.... hence why i have never used i before

Post links to every thread or new post (with relevant/important/interesting/cute, etc.) information accompanied with a relevant GIF or image. That's what I do on Twitter and it gets me 40-150 guests a day/every time I spam links. Also connect your Twitter or Facebook up to Twitter Feed.

well i tried to share a thread of the forum onto the facebook page but that shows up with just the social media image i set up in the admin panel and not even a preview of the content or anything unfortunately.

so what you are suggesting is, post custom posts on the page incl a link to threads or so and then incl a gif or image?
and whats twitter feed? xD

Nah, I'm saying when when you go to post a link to the thread, upload an image or GIF before you send it. That should override the social media image. If it doesn't I will try to see if there is a way around it.
