Todge it happened again. link
I understand the death and after death damage as it dies might not be a bug possible to squash. There is another example of it. Even more odd is how the creature came back to life fully again. Is that new to you?

I'm wondering if it could be that the two people were on the posting page. Say Person A and Person B.
Person B posts before Person A. Person A however still has data saying 'hey this creature is still alive' and if there post does less then death killing damage the creature appears to fully return to life because the plugin gets confused.
I'm not 100% sure but just musing.

mikemcd, can you please try version 0.0.6... I have added a fail-safe that should hopefully stop the key being written to after the creature has been killed.

Todge we are testing it now. Thank you for responding so quickly. I've also set the monster's success rates to 99 in hopes they won't miss as much. In the last one I had them set to 85 and they still seemed to miss more often than not.

I have just run a test counting the hits and misses the creature acheives, and with a hit success rate of 85% I got 82 hits to 18 misses twice, and 90 hits to 10 misses once, so I conclude that the ratio creature hits to misses is correct. So I have no idea how you ended up with more misses than hits.

Thanks for testing. I think it may have just been a fluke. With the success rates at 99 the creature hasn't missed once, so I think it's working properly. Very sorry for wasting your time

No worries. Testing is never a waste of time... How else are you to make sure something is working correctly.
It should also be noted that if a member is successful in attacking the creature, the likelihood of the creature retaliating successfully is reduced, currently to 70% of the original. So, at 85%, the chances of the creature retaliating successfully is actually more like 60%, so that may have a bearing on your results, but the creature should still have more hits than misses.
Hopefully that was just the luck of the draw, so to speak.

Is there a limit to the reduction in hit chance of hitting a swarm as it gets smaller because folks be dyin.

Currently, you have a 19% chance of a successful attack, but I see that you have set the creatures success rate at 99%. with a ratio like that your members will never have a chance to recover any HP.
Saying that, I see that the latest attack by the creatures caused 43 damage, which seems rather high considering the 19% hit rate you can score, so I'll tweak the retaliatory function slightly.

Is there a limit to the reduction in hit chance of hitting a swarm as it gets smaller because folks be dyin. Can you please try version 0.0.7. I have reinstated the creature hit ratio for a retreating member. Now, if a member retreats, the chance of being hit by the creature is 50% that of an unsuccessful attack. If a member attacks and hits the creature, then the chance of receiving a hit is 70% that of what they'd get if they had missed. If you are fighting a swarm, the amount of damage the swarm can inflict as it is reduced in size is now proportional to to what it could inflict at it's maximum size.

If I update now will it mess up the current battle? Nope, so long as you don't reset the keys all should be good, BUT, the new function for swarms will not apply to ongoing battles, as the key doesn't contain the necessary data. The retreats should work though.

Todge - not important but is there any way to make the code so that if one creature is killed there's a chance of a second creature spawning?
