Help making this bigger pls

The white bit where you put your text ...... how do i make it bigger (taller in height)


As you can see it easy for people to get confused and put text in the quote bit because it's so small.

It could be a quick fix but knowing you and how you like to change things.... Is every board requiring you to register? Because I can't find a quote button available to me in any of the threads I looked at. I don't want to register so making one that is available to guests would be helpful.

I just want a thread that I can quote so I can see what kind of coding you have going on. If you don't want to make any of your current boards guest friendly could you create a board and then a thread & post in it so I can quote it and just temporarily make it available for guests and they you can hide it again when we are done? Sorry, I wouldn't ask but just looking at the screen cap it looks like you have changed things.

Thanks @joecool111 ,  I made a thread/post. Just to be clear, you want the quote area taller in height? If so, would using more padding top and bottom work? Like adding this to the bottom of your style sheet: (You may need to add: !important to the end)


div.quote_body {
padding: 30px 20px 30px 20px;
}

@joecool111, I think I read your first post wrong. You actually want the place where you reply/type, in response to a quote, bigger and not the quote area itself, correct? You confused me because in your screen cap, the only true white area is above the text in that screen cap and I had it in my head your quote area got cut off in the screen cap and actually it's the super light blue area that is the quote.  Anyway, sorry if I was confused and yes, there is only one line after a quote in which to type and that has bugged me as well.

I am not sure that can be changed as so much of the visual editor and bbcode editor are coded ProBoards side. But to clarify, before I call in a red name to help, you are indeed talking about where you type to reply to a quoted post, correct? (You didn't clarify when I asked in my previous post when I was thinking it was the  quote you wanted bigger.)

I've been watching this thread since the beginning and thought this was what you were talking about, needing more space to type a response.

The only way I've found around this is to change from the preview window to BBCode. While there, I either type everything I want AFTER the [ /quote] OR I click enter several times to get enough space to type in my comment AFTER the quote.

I've noticed several of my own members, as well as I, have made comments that come out within the quote area instead of below it. I end up having to edit everyone's posts to make it right.

I sure would like to have more room to type, if it's possible.

Totally agree with you both. It needs to be more lines than just one. Tagging Brian to see if anything can be done.







On a side note, another thing that I wish wouldn't happen is when your first start to type, often, when you set your figures on the keyboard it's in the wrong place and thus you start typing withe the wrong letters, then you backspace to get rid of the wrong letters and end up with your cursor in the quote box. But that may be a "me" issue. lol
