Banner adjustments

Essence of Horhsal

I would like to make the banner a bit more matching with the forum because it's a bit small at the moment (the banner, I mean). I hope it's okay I don't really have a clue which size would be good because I don't know where to look up how big it would need to be to fill the upper area up (so that there is no grey anymore left and right of it - or is that too big?). The first E and last L are also a bit too close to the edge and the upper and lower part of the symbol aren't exactly straight lined. I would really appreciate anyone who could spice it up a bit, when it's possible. Something that could also be nice - but is optional - would be to add a little pseudo-effect to have a bit of light blue glowing. Sorry, I don't know how to describe it better. Like, so that it matches a bit more with an entity that's called "The Essence", it being in the title and all.
If anything's not right or missing, just tell me, I will adjust it, then.

I'm highly limited in my capabilities, but I can definitely resize the full image if someone else can take that image and modify the rest of the request. I'm not seeing much in the way of response on this so I'm just hoping that I can do something to get this closer to complete for you. Let me know if you want me to do that or if you'd rather wait.

While I wouldn't normally get involved in a request when someone else has offered to help, resizing the banner as Kalo said he'd do won't really help. First off, your forum doesn't have a set width which means that the width changes depending on a person's screen resolution. And second, it kind of looks like the image was already resized as the quality isn't as good as it can be. So what I did was attempt to recreate the banner but made the background a gradient so that it blends into the gray on either side.

I wasn't sure what width you might want though, so I made it 1000 pixels wide. I can make it smaller, if need be.

Do you have the original symbol separate from the rest of the banner? I ask because it would be difficult to straighten it without having the original plus, whoever does this, might want to spruce it up (only if that is o.k. with you) to look more professional. I know I looked at this thinking I might fill your request but first wanted to "fix" the symbol but couldn't see what it was like behind the text so decide I would not do this but I might if I can fix the symbol and you have the original. Plus, I'd need to know what font was used as I'd just do the whole thing from scratch.

Also, the width of your forum/banner area seems to be 100% of the space left on the right of the side bar, which means someone with a very large screen resolution would need a very wide banner to fill the banner area. In other words, unless your banner/forum width is set at a pixel width then we have to decide what width might suit the majority of your members oir just pick your screen resolution and go with that minus the width of your side bar. On a side note, one can use css to force the banner to fit all screen resolutions but that comes with negatives.

Oh, didn't notice all the posts until now. Thanks a lot for all the offers and maybe you could each help out. Like, Kalo using the result from Vanilla and so on.
And I think it could be good to find a width for the forum but I'm not sure how to do that yet and which width would be good.
I actually have the symbol as its seperate image.

Thanks orchid, I'm not good at all with graphics but I can resize as it's easy to do. Anything past that I still have a bunch to learn.

I'm not sure when I will get to this and/or if my crappy graphics program will make this a hard task as far as tidying up the symbol. If I had my good graphics program on this laptop, I could do it much easier and have this to you overnight. (I can't load the good graphics program on this laptop and don't have a PC at the moment)  If you have patience, I'll see what I can do but meanwhile, I'd use VO's as it is most of what you asked for or maybe someone else will jump in here. But I'll try to get at it soon if no one else posts they want to try.

Well, I did have some free time today and once I sat down, I had to keep going. I redid your symbol from scratch and I'll have no hard feelings if you want your original one put back in (which I'll be happy to do) because I kind of changed it a bit for balance. I couldn't spend too much time on it though so there are things I don't like about it and plus I hate doing banners on this graphics program I have right now.  As far as the rest of the banner, I really didn't know what to do so just winged it.  I just didn't like the symbol behind the text so moved it.

Anyway, I gave it a try. I can change things but again, no hurt feeling if this just doesn't suit you.

Symmetry can be boring sometimes, it's nice to have things a little out of line

Whoops, sorry but I tend to like symmetrical things. Did you want me to try to fix it and/or make other changes or do you want to just wait and see if someone else takes up this request. (Warning though, not a lot of volunteers here in Graphic Requests) Again, no hurt feelings no matter what route you want to go.
