I fully agree. It's a nightmare and a PITA .....

I've been transferring all my images from Photobucket to another site, one of my posters gave me.  It's IMGBB.com ... works the same way as Photobucket, although I haven't figured out yet, how to edit/crop photos.  But I've sent them a request asking if it's possible.

  I disabled all my themes and created just one without any images for what few members are left there to use without the nonsense from photobucket obscuring everything. I'm in the process of downloading all the images to my computer. There's thousands of them. UGH! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out when I'm ready to repair the themes.

I'm doing the same thing, a much simplier theme from now on, less images to worry about ... deleting all my other themes, sadly enough.

Even IF Photobucket smartens up, they've lost my support of them.

I'm loading my theme images and  plugin images, including smilies, onto ProBoards' storage from my computer to the custom images section, Forever Sunshine .  Of course, you have to add ProBoards' link in every single line, but at least I know this won't occur again by going this route. I should have done it the FIRST time. But you know what they say about hindsight.

I thought the conversion to v6 would force me to cut back on the number of themes I have because I'm not going to convert all of those to v6 formatting. But this forced the the cut back decision on me much earlier than intended.

The best place for images that are on my ProBoards' forum is in ProBoards' storage. I'm not going through this again. Fool me once . . . .


I also have them backed up on a fantastic, trustworthy site and on my computer, as well.

IMO, Photobucket has made a bad business decision, and they will pay dearly for this! Tinypics is also owned and operated by Photobucket, so I am certain, they will follow suit in time. The ads were so annoying on Photobucket, that once I deleted them all, I was outta the mood! So I choose Imgur and transferred all my images there and deleted from Photobucket and Tinypics. Imgur has no ads and is so much quicker! You all may want to check it out!

LOL But, I'll keep a handful for the members to use, you know, the ones I know they use and never switch from. I just need to get the smiley rack reset for now.

  Ah yes, hindsight! A wonderful thing, innit? LOL I'm dreading the next conversion but like I said to sassy, I'm just going to disable 90% of my themes and keep a handful. It's just not worth the aggravation and rise in blood pressure.

My dropdown smiley menu, will be the biggest hassle.  I have to transfer all my smilies over to the new site first, before I can reload them into the theme.  Such a hassle.  But oh well .. live and learn as they say.

Did you read their ToS? It's the same as P'Bucket.

If you do – and we will be the judge – or if you do anything illegal, in addition to any other legal rights we may have, we will ban you along with the site you're hotlinking from, delete all your images, report you to the authorities if necessary, and prevent you from viewing any images hosted on Imgur.com. We mean it.

There was a thread here on support when Imgur changed their ToS more than a year ago.

  hahahaha I hear ya. It's probably a good time for me to get rid of some of the smileys too in the drop down. I really do have too many but they're all soooo cute!

When I got to my site the other day and saw all the Photobucket crap, I just said out loud, "Dear Lord, kill me now!"

That's why I'm putting my plugin images and theme images on ProBoards' storage this time around.

There will be no next time for me. First Imgur does this. Now P'Bucket. They'll be others to follow. Of that, I am sure.

Who knows? lol I just don't want to go through this ever again. Too much time spent designing and loading and making it purdy for members and then this. I'm just getting too old for this! hahaha We really need to be able to just upload from our computers and be done with it.

Actually, that's what you do when you're using ProBoards' storage. You upload them from your computer and use their link.

I've learned the HARD way. The very HARD way.

And I'm a perfectionist so this kills me. All my hard work and then this debacle.
