Recently my IP address got banned. I have no clue why. I usually don‘t use VPN, but currently I do because otherwise I wouldn‘t be able to create this post. Can anybody please tell me what happened and what I have to do now?
It says:
Error 1007
Ray ID: 42d668b6d25f7eca
Access denied
The owner of this website (support.proboards.com) has banned your IP address (31.220.117.208)
Performance & security by Cloudflare
P.S.: I don‘t know anything about IP addresses but this is not the one I can find on my iPhone

Hi, missclumsy. The IP address you posted seems to belong to a server network rather than an ISP which is why it's blocked from connecting to our service. Do you happen to have a proxy enabled that's causing you to use that IP address?

Usually I only use my private WLAN (settings for HTTP-PROXY are always „off“). But we‘ve been on holidays recently and used the hotel‘s WLAN. Could it be that this caused the problems? Unfortunately I have absolutely no knowledge of the electronic system and computer stuff. We returned home June 7th but my IP hadn‘t been banned until June 16th. Is it possible that there‘s a connection though?

If you're back home on your own connection the hotel's connection should no longer be a factor. I performed a WHOIS lookup on the IP address you posted and it leads me to this site: anschlusswerk.deI'm not sure if that gives you any clues on why that's showing as your IP address, but the indication there is that your connection is going through their service for some reason. It might also be worth it to see if you're able to duplicate this issue when your iPhone is connected via wi-fi to the same network you're getting the ban message on to see if it's an issue with just the device or the router itself.

Seems like the ‚Anschlusswerk GmbH‘ is an upstream provider for our very small local internet provider. I‘m afraid this means that I don‘t have a chance that the ban gets removed? 😢

I would recommend contacting your ISP to ask if anything has changed on your end since you mentioned it happened recently. If you were using the same ISP before and after the ban that would indicate that something changed on their end in that time.
