I bought the custom domain upgrade for my forum 5 minutes ago, and the top Baer still displays the old namehere.boards.net, is something wrong?

billnyetheforumguy, I'm not seeing where you upgraded the forum with custom domain linking (go to Admin > Upgrades > Custom Domains) After you purchase a custom domain from a domain registrar, you will need up update the domain's DNS and then purchase the custom domain linking (an annual fee of $13.99 USD). Instructions are in your admin panel in the Custom Domain section.

Okay, it is working now if you enter the domain, but it isn't yet redirecting the old URL to the new one. billnyetheforumguy , I'm not seeing where you upgraded the forum with custom domain linking (go to Admin > Upgrades > Custom Domains) After you purchase a custom domain from a domain registrar, you will need up update the domain's DNS and then purchase the custom domain linking (an annual fee of $13.99 USD). I created a new acc. for here so I wouldn't show what that forum was.

Okay, it is working now if you enter the domain, but it isn't yet redirecting the old URL to the new one. The default ProBoards URL will always remain functional in the event you domain is nonfunctional and you need to access your forum. It does not redirect as part of the custom domain service. Attempting a login on the default URL will redirect you to the custom domain URL. Additionally, search engines will reference the canonical URL defined in the meta tags of the page (whichever URL you have set as active in Upgrades > Custom Domains) to know which URL should be used in search results for your forum.
