Members are having problems getting past the capcha in order to register, how can you assist me in preventing this from happening? The members having problems are well over age of 13 just to clarify. Thank you very much!

Hi, @5860di.
What issue specifically are your users running into within the captcha that's preventing them from continuing?

Can you have them provide more detail? For example, a step by step list of actions they're taking during registration so I can deduce exactly which step they reached that didn't allow them to continue.

For example, a step by step list of actions they're taking during registration so I can deduce exactly which step they reached that didn't allow them to continue. The only steps were clicking on street signs. I clicked street signs for 5 minutes. Each time I got to the verify button it gave me more street signs. I mean really, I clicked all the signs, but just kept getting more and more to click and I know I wasn't missing any. I mean come on, when there are only 3 images to click it doesn't take a genius to figure out that hmm some of these are not like the others....lol!

When you click on an image its replaced with a new image. Keep clicking until you're sure you've gotten everything before continuing. I've had several occasions where I clicked for a while before it let me through. Usually this means the CAPTCHA is suspicious of you for one reason or another. Keep in mind that if you continue too soon, that counts as a "fail" and you have to start over, which may make it appear like its going for ages!!

So because I am a fast clicker, that counts as a fail? Is that what you are saying?

I have been having problems with these stupid things as well, to the point now, where if i am asked to join a site, like affiliate or something like that, i have to ask the admin of that board to pre register me. I do all my clicks slowly, the signs, the cars, the roads, the buses, everything, 15 minutes i have been at them at times, over 5 minutes average for others before i give up. It is happening to a lot of members, it is the stupid Capcha not any one else. There is something wrong with it. It has been like this for months. At the moment it is a great member killer

Every test we've performed on the registration captcha has made us complete a maximum of three challenges before the captcha considers it a pass. We've yet to duplicate any reports of having to spend minutes at a time completing a captcha challenge.

Three challenges is acceptable as that is what I have encountered elsewhere I have had to deal with these captcha challenges. It was way more than 3 challenges let me assure you. Probably closer to a dozen, and each time I clicked the verify thinking oh joy, well I had to endure more clicking.

spiceelicious, are you using any type of ad-blocker, or security app/extensions, or the like? As these have been known to sometimes interfere with the captcha process.

Quote you Brian @ Registering on behalf of another user is forbidden by our Terms of Service.
Brian, you seem to have misunderstood what i said in my OP if it is a against your TOS then i would suggest you remove the option Pre Register members from you ACP options, as you stated, you have it there and it is against your TOS, then that's your error and no one else.
If i can't register cause i am not going to sit there for ever trying to get passed the capcha then as all other board hosts allow, w pre register option which is against your TOS, well isn't that sad for PBs. Why is it always us that have the problems, why is it always our end that is wrong, i think you lot need to grow up and realize that you at PBs aren't the best as you think you are by blaming everyone else..Don't like criticism then ban me in front of all others that are speaking out like me just because it is working for your staff, well we are all using different ISPs and all to more are having the same problem, so your going to have to come up with something better than that huh

Brian, you seem to have misunderstood what i said in my OP if it is a against your TOS then i would suggest you remove the option Pre Register members from you ACP options, as you stated, you have it there and it is against your TOS, then that's your error and no one else. There is no feature that pre-registers users. You can invite users to a forum but at the end of the day they still need to go through the full registration process regardless of whether they were invited or discovered the forum themselves. Registration is exactly the same for every account. If i can't register cause i am not going to sit there for ever trying to get passed the capcha then as all other board hosts allow, w pre register option which is against your TOS, well isn't that sad for PBs. Why is it always us that have the problems, why is it always our end that is wrong, i think you lot need to grow up and realize that you at PBs aren't the best as you think you are by blaming everyone else.. If you want to record a video showing your attempt to fill out the captcha that helps illustrate the issues you're describing so that I can see the problem firsthand you're more than free to. I am here for the sole purpose of helping you with any issues you have with our service. My previous post basically amounts to "I've tried duplicating the issue you're describing but couldn't reproduce it." I don't see anything in there where I imply that it's your fault or that you need to deal with it on your own. Ignoring issues with our service doesn't benefit us in the least bit.
