Does not seem to work with the replacement code to have the lead post appear on all pages

I can not see the second code, but if it instructs you to replace everything, did you then go in afterwards and replace the edit info? If so, could you post what is currently in that template.

Yes I did that. This is the replacement code which works well...but adding the dit post code does not seem to do anything

Can you post both of the following?

- The specific part out of the template code that you just posted above that you're attempting to replace
- What you're attempting to replace that part of the template code with

I changed the code on the post list so that the lead post will appear at the top of every page. Now the 'get rid of edit post' does NOT work


Get rid of 'Edit Post' Info



Go to Admin > Structure > Layout Templates. Make sure the correct theme is selected, then click on the Thread layout template > Post List tab.



Scroll to roughly line 34 and look for this:



{if $[post.edited]}

<div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]

{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div>

{/if}





You'll want to comment this out by putting <!-- before the first part and --> after the last. It should then look like this:



<!-- {if $[post.edited]}

<div class="edited_by"><span class="italic">Last Edit:</span> $[post.edited.date] by $[post.edited.by_user]

{if $[post.edited.reason]}: $[post.edited.reason]{/if}</div>

{/if} -->





Save changes and you're all set.

According to Themes > Layout Templates > Thread > Post List on the forum you linked you have the edit part commented out in the part that produces the first post of the thread, but not the part that handles posts after that so it's still showing for those.

That's assuming I'm looking at the right theme (currently seeing Beach 2 selected in your profile). Lines 91-93 are the ones you would need to comment out on that theme.
