Several folks have had some difficulty opening these links:
and this one:
These are links to Microsoft Community forum and when they are clicked a page that says;
Obviously they end up extremely long. I was able to use a TinyURL link to get them to open. We have a fellow who insists they won't open because ProBoards do not allow https links to open. Not sure how he's tried to prove this because nobody else has had this happen and https links open for all other people without difficulty.
Can somebody explain the reason these links produce that "Dead End" result. Is it because they are too long?

Hi,
Are the users who are copy and pasting those links using an adblocker at all? I seem to remember there being a connection...

Have them try disabling their adblockers and then copying and pasting the link again (as in fresh from the source) and see if the issue still occurs.

Tried with AdBlockers off and it made no difference. It seems to only happen with Microsoft Community forum links and this IS recent because I personally often link to an answer there or a step to try and have never had difficulty before. But one of our members linked to linuxmint home page and that opens without difficulty, same goes for mail2web and for his own person web site. Though he claims that our forum deletes the https from an address and that is why it doesn't work. I see the https when I go to a link, if I don't see that in the address line I do see the Green Lock which indicates a secure connection so I'm not certain really what he is claiming. But the inability to use a link to a Microsoft page from our forum is occurring.

Can you provide a link to a post containing the original links on your forum that lead to the ones you posted?

Thanks! It looks like VigLink is malforming those links by truncating them with ellipsis. I'll email them and let them know the details. They usually are able to fix this pretty easily based on my past experience emailing them with other malformed links.

This actually happened for the first time in that thread so the first time since our forum came into existence one year ago.
Thanks, I will inform the members.
