Hey chaps, suspect you are swamped at the moment, so sorry for adding to the pile. I use forum.retro-rides.org as my custom domain. I've added a CNAME to point at retrorides.proboards.com for the sub domain. I've also removed all the A record IPs I had. Is that all I need to do? Does the CNAME record need to propagate or should it just straight up work because I've not changed my nameservers?

Hi, hotwire. Your CNAME needs to point towards the following domain in order to work, not your forum's URL:

Do you know if your domain registrar is already integrated with Cloudflare in any way?
As far as we can tell your domain is set up correctly (even matching our domain we use to test perfectly!) but it's behaving similar to what happens when you try to point Cloudflare to its own IP addresses.
Also, can you provide the link to your domain registrar's website?

I wonder if it is because I partially set up a Cloudflare account before realising I didn't need to. I've just deleted it.
My domain registrar doesn't use Cloudflare as far as I know... The somewhat frighteningly named Wildwestdomains (which I think is just a front for Godaddy).

Interestingly the domain is working just fine in some cases but not others. My laptop is able to access the forum just fine on my phone's hotspot connection but not from the office connection.
We're currently working this out on our end and will update you with our findings.

That's odd, it works fine on my side, and I can even see that people are posting on the forum. I'll have to see if I can find something out about this - it's entirely possible that some propagation has not yet happened.
Edit:
So it looks like your domain has a Time to Live (TTL) at 24h, which means that some records will only be checked once per 24 hours. Sadly, for those DNS servers that you connect to, it looks like they have not yet been refreshed. Once they refresh, the domain will update to the correct address. In other words, it's just waiting for the DNS info to propagate.

hotwire, how is your access now? From the search I did looks likes all DNS servers but two are updated throughout the web.

Nearly there, I can get on the site and read it... but I can't create threads without hitting the 1016, which is odd... may just be my Host though.
edit: Spoke too soon, I was able to browse it and now I can't.

I believe so... had a couple of people with issues still yesterday evening... but figure that is just a time thing. Thanks for the help.
