Forum URL: www.tapatalk.com/groups/pokemon_godai/index.phpGood morning My name is DrakeX, a Moderator from Pokémon Godai which is a writing-based RP forum site that used to belong to Zetaboards. As you may or may not be aware, Zetaboards has been bought by TapaTalk and yesterday the latter has implemented a migration of our site into its database without giving any prior notification that the change would occur at that time. Unfortunately, the changes that were made with this migration do not agree with many of our settings and quite a few (staff) members have given complaints concerning this new forumbase. As such, we would like to migrate over towards Proboards if this is possible. We are wondering if Proboards will be part of Tapatalk anytime soon or has any intention of migrating into Tapatalk? Additionally, is there any way for us to migrate our own information into Proboards? Thank you in advance and I am looking forward to hearing from you DrakeX

ProBoard Admins will be on here on Monday at 9am PDT, Noon EDT.
I think I can safely say that ProBoards will not be brought out by Tapatalk any time soon.
So come back on Monday and a Red name will answer your questions. Good Luck!

Hi As Jaguar said, the ProBoards staff will be able to provide you with a definite response when they get online on Monday, but this question came up not so long ago and the response was that there was no plans to migrate to tapatalk. The only connection between Tapatalk and ProBoards is the utilisation of their App which allows people, should they wish to, access their ProBoards forum using the Tapatalk App, but this is not forced, and people can use the browser on their device to access the forum Craig

drakex, reiterating what was stated above, we have no plans being part of the Tapatalk family. Currently the only association is their app which members can use to view the forum, although this can be done just as easily with your device's browser. Also, when our next version of the software is released users will want to view using a browser to be able to enjoy all the benefits of the forum. Regarding your other question, at this time there is not a way to migrate information from another service to ProBoards, sorry.

Good day Jaguar, Craig and Scott
First off I would like to thank you for the quick responses and reassurances when the Admins would come online.
Secondly, thank you Scott for addressing my questions so quickly. While we are saddened that migration is not an option, the fact that there are no immediate plans to merge with TapaTalk is a reassurance of itself.
I will bring this up with the other Staff members and we shall further discuss what will be our best course of actions from here.
Kind regards, DrakeX

drakex, no TT merging plans immediate or otherwise! In the past we've had offers that included some ad-free or other perks for communities that migrated over to our service usually based on the size of the membership. We might be able do something again. If interested contact our Support Manager Michael.

Good day
A fellow staff member recalled that in Zetaboards we had certain buttons/functions that allowed us to automatically close/move a topic to a 'Finished' subfolder. I also remember that we had the options of having multiple skins.
We were wondering if these options are also available in ProBoards.
Kind regards, DrakeX

Kind regards, DrakeX Hi, There is no button to automatically move and lock a topic, but both of those actions are available separately. Themes are available, both to create your own and to pick from the hundreds in the library.

Thank you for the swift and helpful responses. In the end we have decided to migrate to Proboards and manually move all of our information. I do have a few other question thoughs. - Is it possible to view the source of a post without editing it? This was an option we had, wherein we simply had to check a 'View Source' which would allow members to see the coding of a post that was Locked.
- Is it possible to title a Table? Or would one have to install a plug-in?
- Is it possible to influence the width of the Tables? This is mostly in the case that one can't title a table, we would then simply create a 2nd table on top of the big table, and put the name in that one.
- Is it possible to title a Quote aside from the [quote/author=""] code?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you in advance. Hello drakex and Welcome to the ProBoards family! The ProBoards Admins review all these threads when they're in the office [Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm PST/PDT (with the exception of some US holidays).] so you'll get more complete answers then. But I'll attempt to answer with my limited knowledge. - Seeing the BBCode in a post on a locked thread: I don't believe that's possible.
- Adding a Title to a table: Yes, if you have some knowledge of BBCode and do it manually. But just clicking the button doesn't have that option available in the selection box. If you make a lot of tables, finding a plugin might be the thing to do.
- Influence width: Yes. In the first example below, the width isn't specified. In the second example I added style="width:100%;" to the opening table tag. I'm guessing that might be what you meant by influencing width? Also, I made the tables shown with the insert table button then edited the BBCode. I changed the first td in the first row to th colspan="3;" (to span all three columns) and deleted the second and third tds in the first row.

[li]Is it possible to title a Quote aside from the [quote/author=""] code? Sorry, I don't know.[/li][/ul] [/quote] Thanks a lot Retread, this has allowed our tables to look smoother. I do have another couple of questions that a fellow Mod pointed out. - Is it possible to increase the word count in a Thread's title?
- Is it possible to add a sub-title under a topic's title to give a bit more info about it?
- Is it possible have tables automatically install borders rather than inputting the code manually? This is mainly asked for our already existing tables that we are moving.
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to increase the word count in a Thread's title? This isn't a feature built into the forum, but a plugin can accomplish this. Is it possible to add a sub-title under a topic's title to give a bit more info about it? www.proboards.com/library/plugins/item/8Is it possible have tables automatically install borders rather than inputting the code manually? You can customize a theme's CSS to accomplish this by changing the default appearance of tables in posts.

You can have multiple skins, but at Proboards only only can be displayed and for all forums unlike at ZB where you could have a different skin (theme) for each forum you had. A great feature I would love to have here, but instead I use the Headers/Footers for displaying a separate header for each forum.
