Hello, my forum is moneyballfb.proboards.com/I am running a fantasy baseball league on my forum and I have a few fishy things going on with some owners. They are getting on close to the same time and they never seem to be on at the exact same time. So basically I need to figure out if this is the same person that created multiple accounts? The accounts are New York Mets, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, and Cleveland Indians. My thoughts are it is two different people using two separate accounts. But who knows it could be all the same person. So basically is there a way to tell if this is the same person? I've checked the IP address and it is similar. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that means anything though, I know it's possible that just means they could be using the same wifi. Alright can anybody help me?

Hi, jcgenob. Unless they also share the same email address the IP address is the closest available thing to reference. There are only a handful of personally identifiable things that you can go by to determine if two users are the same person, all of which are visible in a user's profile.

It's kind of a wildcard because IP addresses can be recirculated, so they're not guaranteed to be specific to a single connection for eternity. Ultimately they're not a reliable means of unique identification so if you want to use it as your point of comparison it'll come down to your own judgement.

With the other things you've mentioned, I would think it's a safe assumption if they have the exact same IP address, they are the same person. Like Brian said, that's not absolute, but with the other evidence I would consider it likely. JMO...
