Want to be able to Share threads from forum to facebook

After reading this thread, I immediately went looking for a way to implement the feature. I couldn't find it, but found this tutorial and followed the instructions (I hope) for placing a button so that forum threads could be Shared on facebook.

What happened is that the main page and all categories, boards, sub-boards, & threads have the Share button. However, if I use it to share a thread, it turns out I'm sharing a link to the forum instead.

How can I either fix that or, if it's simpler, implement the Share via Actions referenced by the OP in the first link above?

Hi, bixaorellana.

The button is specifically for sharing the site itself. For thread sharing all you have to do is click on the Actions dropdown at the top of a thread and select your preferred social media site from the Share Thread menu.

If this menu isn't visible you'll need to enable each social media site you want to share to in Settings > Forum Settings > Social Media.

I just realized that the method I used only works on whatever theme I was using when I did it. :-p

So, I'm off to undo that and to enable some social media.
