Forum URL: cdweather.boards.netHi!
I'm Lommaren at the World Weather Forum and my account has recently been acting very strange both in sending PM's and for general posting.
I think this started when I accidentally touched something with the tag on the BB Code when I wanted to preview a spoiler. Now all the time the forum automatically adds [/spoiler] just after I do the standard spoiler within those tags, without me asking, and this the same moment as I post the message. As a result, what's supposed to be hidden behind the spoiler instead ends up being displayed, along with [/spoiler] and [/div] as visible tags after the end of the spoiled message. What's behind the spoiler when this new dumb tag is automatically added is instead: absolutely nothing. Just a blank space. [/div] (as you can see, even playing around with those tags in the message caused the "div" thing to be added and then I didn't even try to hide something behind a spoiler here)...
I really want help with my account and settings within it to prevent this from happening again. For example, to send a photo in a PM is right now absolutely hopeless, and also inserting climate statistics into a post hidden behind a spoiler is very useful to me.
Thanks in advance//
Lommaren

Hi Do you know if any changes were made on the forum that would have coincided with this issue appearing? I can't see the forum, unfortunately, but it may be worth trying in a different browser to see if perhaps something in the browser is causing a conflict of kinds.

Hi, lommaren. Typing your posts using the BBCode tab of the editor should alleviate this issue. When Firefox updated to 60.0 it changed the default behavior of contenteditable elements to match other browsers and utilize div tags to separate each line instead of line breaks. This results in the div tags you see in your posts. Our code only corrects this in browsers that exhibited this behavior at the time of it being written so Firefox isn't currently included. A task already exists for our developers to fix this.

I think Brian might be onto something a bit later on there. I'll try and use a separate browser compared to Firefox the next time and see whether it'll alleviate the issue, otherwise I'll come back

I've tested this following previous reports and can confirm that this is an issue specific to Firefox. There's no need to switch browsers as long as you're using the BBCode tab of the posting page as this issue is exclusive to the Preview tab.
