Forum Theme

Hello!

I have been running an A-TEAM fan forum for several years now, using a few forum themes.  However, I have heard from a few members that some are hard on the eyes and they are having trouble being part of the forum due to that.  

I was hoping someone might be able to help me with a forum theme that fit with the context of the forum, but also had the ability to be easy on the eyes.  The current theme is viewable at theateamforum.proboards.com

I was hoping to keep an Army like theme, but is there a better way to utilize the colors so it's easier on the eyes?  Is there a simple solution to fix the current theme that allows for more easy viewing?

I would appreciate any and all help I could get.

You can try many themes which are available in pb theme library.

You can also check my responsive theme, but it will only work correctlyin chrome browsers.

Thank you.  I did find one to use for now.

However, if anyone is willing to help me on my original forum themes to see if I can do something different to make them more user-friendly, I would still greatly appreciate it.

Additionally, is there a way to contact members to see if I can ask questions on their themes? I used one by Admin...but I didn't see a way to contact them.

Checkout the forum THEMES and see if they have a topic for the theme (for help and etc).

Some creators will have a theme help post (posted) but some do not. Checkout the second link (theme library) if it is not in there than you can ask a question in the THEMES.

No you probably would not. It is up to the creator what they want to do - have a thread for help or what not. However, it could be one user that just has no interest in forums anymore and left.

For help with the theme you will need to go in the THEMES and ask it -- make sure you post your forum link and a detailed request of what you need help with. More detail the faster you get help.

In my humble opinion, there is a relatively simple fix. The HUE for the background color of the content containers is good but the intensity is far too low. The #663300 background-color you're using is about 20%. In my opinion when using dark text, the background color should be more like 80% or higher which would bring you to #ffcc99 in the same hue. Intensity of the background color is largely a question of personal taste but the target is to reduce the harshness of extreme contrast of black text on a pure white background, yet have enough contrast where the eye isn't searching for something in the darkness which create its own type of eye strain.

Also, highlighting of boards as you hover over them is a bit jarring. If we make the more suBtle by using color of the same hue but only slightly more or less intense, that would be more pleasant yet still add a little something.

If you'd like to export a copy of that theme to your computer, then attach the pbt theme file to a post in this thread, I'd be happy to make a few tweaks and attach a revised version that you can save to your computer then upload (import) to your forum.

Retread, I'm okay with this being moved if necessary.

As for the rest, it went right over my head for the most part. I understand wanting a lighter color, but I don't want to deaden it down from the overall idea of the connection to the content. That's part of my dilemma on how to approach it.
