Is there a user selectable Dark or Light Theme?

I am a member of a lot of forums and some offer the users the ability to select a dark theme or light. Can I set this up with pro boards software?

Hi sruddy, yes it can.

You have a few options:

1) Using the Visual Editor (and related Style Sheet) you can customize your own theme.
Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, Visual Editor

2) In the Colors & Theme Creator you can choose from some preset color schemes.
Admin > Themes > Colors & Theme Creator

3) You can import an already customized theme (or themes) from the Library.
Admin > Themes > Theme Library

Im asking for a button or text link that will switch the theme. The function is usually a dark version and a light version. I’m pretty sure what you posted are admin only options.

Once a theme has been created a user can switch to it by going to Profile > Edit Profile > Settings Tab and selecting the theme they wish to use and clicking on save.

Or for a more seamless way, (with a bit of setup first fot each user), you can use the Theme Changer plugin.

If you are asking in the context of being a user rather than an admin whether there is a global feature across ProBoards which will allow you to "enable nightmode" and switch to a dark night-friendly theme then unfortunately not. If you were to have your own forum you could explore the options posted above but you're at the mercy of admins of whichever forum you're part of when it comes to the available themes. I believe there are some extensions for Chrome and Firefox which will allow you to enable nightmode across all the websites you visit - might be worth looking into?
