I have always enjoyed being alone and have no issues with it. I am not someone who suffers from either depression or loneliness, so for me it's perfectly natural. I am not a big fan of human nature, in fact I do not consider my fellow man a noble beast, quite the contrary. I live a peaceful solitary life and not without pleasure or enjoyment. The only time my serenity apple cart is knocked over, is when someone comes along and tips it over. Then I tell myself that the less people I have in my life, the less stress and drama I have.
One cannot isolate 100% though. We need people like doctors, bankers, plumbers, carpenters, mechanics, grocery clerks etc. in our lives out of necessity and can't do without them. But as far as I am able, I do my best to be alone.

How do you feel being alone completely at home, work, etc ? I am a loner and always have been, I don't go to pubs with mates for pints and I would rather sit in the house alone when the wife goes out and do my own bit in my own time, surf the net, read a book or watch a good movie.
