Forum URL: s-e-e.freeforums.net/How does a forum administrator set the options for so a forum can be read by nonmembers – as well as whether a non-member can post to forum. ( I didn't see it at the Members section. ) Thank you!

Hi,
Allowing non-members to post is the default state of the forum. You appear to have Guest viewing and posting enabled on your forum. If you ever want to change this you can disable guests from viewing or posting by enabling Guests Must Login (Admin>Settings>Forum Settings>Login and Registration) or by changing the permissions for each board in Admin>Structure>Categories & Boards.

Yet the first response I've gotten from invitations to visit / post tells me otherwise:
When I click on the link it says I do not have permission to access this page. It then asks me for a user name and log in. Is there a way to access your page directly?

Having taken a quick look on your forum, i appear to be able to see a good number of boards and it allows me to post. Is it possible they are clicking on to the wrong forum, or trying to access something on the forum which does require membership, such as viewing a profile.
Would you be able to ask them for the link to the page they are on when they see the error message.

Hello, Is there a way to allow a Guest user to view information but does not allow them to post without becoming a member? forum-19.freeforums.net/

barbbwatuw, Go to Admin > Structure > Categories & Boards. For each board you want guests to see content, set the permission for View and Access to Everyone and set all the rest to Members & Staff. If you need further assistance with this please start your own thread.
