Proboard's consider adding permissions to the list window?

Consider using the first letter of the current status of a boards, permission's settings? This way we can see at a quick glance if the permissions are set correctly. This would save us a lot of work from having to dive-in and look at each boards settings.

Here is an example I created for clarity. My suggestion is in red:

That's not a bad suggestion. Even if it wasn't added there, it would be nice to have a page with a run down of each board's permissions and settings. I'll mark this as a suggestion

I just got finished after an hour's work of resetting each of my board's permissions to E,E,M,M,M and it was the longest hour of my life!

I have not counted the exact number of boards I have, but it is around 150? Each board, times 9 clicks, and one mouse scroll. 1,500 actions... Yuk!

After all that work, it would really help seeing it there then I could tweak the one or two that I may have missed.

There is more to the permissions than just E, M, S, and C. There's also a Rank threshold and Groups inclusion and/or exclusion. But displaying that additional information could become cluttered.

The right side of each list item currently displays some icons on hover, but I reckon it would be possible to have the proposed permission letters disappear on hover.

Personally I think this is a great idea and I'll apply a like to your OP.

When you hover over a list item, you'll see several icons on the right side. If you hover over the icon that looks like this: , a tooltip will appear after a moment or two which includes some permissions information.

EDIT: After further investigation, I discovered the only permission being displayed is the 'Who can Access' for the category and board. This isn't enough to suit your needs.

That isn't an "at a glance" method like your proposal. But for now, it would be faster way to check than clicking the icon and selecting the properties tab.

I agree about the current highlighted icons being on the right; via hover, being obscured. Maybe my screen-print should have had the red-letters in a column to the left of the icons?

Your suggestion, Retread only shows the first two permission settings, not all five settings so in my case that doesn't work.

I did not know we could do a Ranked Threshold. Cool!
