I don't agree with killing trees needlessly either, but we need natural fuel, building materials and paper to live an organic life. It's nature's way, in my opinion. As long as we replenish, reuse, repurpose and recycle...nature will take care of itself.
Each to their own, as you said.

Too many people rely on technology. If your battery dies, lose your Wi-Fi, lose your phone/tablet, etc, I still have my old-fashioned paper book I take care of to read.

Meryl I feel that same way! Plus sometimes w/ Kindle etc, you may 'buy' it but they can take away your 'book' at any time. At least that's what I read Re: Amazon's rights. There is only one way Amazon can take away your book/s and that is if you are caught violating the DRM. However to each his own! I still read some DTB's that I still own when I can't find a reasonably priced e-book copy. And at least I'm not killing trees to own or borrow them. I happen to love the fact that there is a dictionary built right in, I can buy the next book without leaving my house or having to wait until it's delivered etc. Believe me, way back when they first came out I vowed never to buy one-but alas I did and even with that old-fashioned one I was hooked. Is that the case on Amazon with books? I know for any movies or television you purchase, you own it as long as Amazon owns the rights to it. Once that goes away and is not renewed, you can lose any purchase through their platform. Is it different with books?

All I can say is in that the years I've owned my many different Kindles, I've never had than take a book from me. The only ones that may disappear on occasion are ARC's. I'll have to do some research on the matter...thanks HoudiniDerek for bringing this to my attention.

And all the books I buy are now made from recycled paper, just like my loo paper is. And I don't consider myself a book snob, because I prefer to own the physical version. In fact, it sounds like there are some e-book reader snobs. I have an e-book reader, but it's not the same for me as holding a book in my hands. I like searching for a book to read on my bookshelves and in the bookstores. It's fun, and I consider bookstores my second home.

I like to make designs, which I've been doing more of since the pandemic started. And although I haven't done much writing, I also like to do that. If we're talking about outside activities, I grew a few tomato plants when summer first began. The tomatoes are really coming in now.

I haven't drawn in a long time. I really should get back into it. I'll have to take something like a drawing tutorial again to shake the rust off.
