Hi, Please don't test post on support. You're welcome to make a testing forum where you can play to your hearts content.

Hi, Please don't test post on support. You're welcome to make a testing forum where you can play to your hearts content. I am very sorry. I wantet to post just for a minute, to test email-notification of the thread (not working). But at deletion, there was an error (something with a 'bear'). I deleted again, and the post was gone. But now I got your reply by emailnotification, and saw that my post was there again. Very sorry to bother you..

You can't trigger an email notification for yourself so that would be why the notification didn't occur.

You can't trigger an email notification for yourself so that would be why the notification didn't occur. I did not get emails for any new post in both my own Threads. So I supposed, the Defaut setting cound be 'Off". Then I found the E-mail settings: 1. Profile > Edit profile > Notifications. But turning On Threads or Posts gave emails for áll new threads or posts on the Suppord board. Turned it Off again. 2. On the Support Board you can Check your threads on the left, and on top click Actions > Notification Options. But the result was the same. Then I posted one post, just to check if anything happened? (But I suppose, you don't get emails for your own posts anyway) But nothing had changed, so I deleted the Test-post. (with an error message) The post was gone, but reapeared later. Then suddenly I got an email notification for your post, asking me not to test here. So all of a sudden, it works! :-)

sergenl, if you want an email notification for a specific thread, then you would need to Bookmark that thread and then in your profile make sure you have email notifications enabled for Bookmarks.

Thanks! But do I have to do that for my own Threads in this support forum to? And for my own freeforurums board? Can't find any email-settings there..

Hi,
Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Notifications for your notification settings on a given forum.
Though again I feel like I should point out that even if you bookmark a thread and have notifications for bookmarks on, you won't receive a notification for your own post in that thread.

Go to Profile>Edit Profile>Notifications for your notification settings on a given forum. I already had enabled New Thread and/or New Post there, but then I got a lot of emails of other Threads and Posts. I just want to get emails of new posts in my ówn Threads in the support forum. It still does not work. I only get emails, when I'm Quoted. ------------------ Oct 24, 2020 1:00:35 GMT 2 Michael Stone said: Though again I feel like I should point out that even if you bookmark a thread and have notifications for bookmarks on, you won't receive a notification for your own post in that thread. ------------------ Not neccesary.. I already responded to your point about bookmarking. The remaining question was: Do I also have do so, to get emails from posts by others, in Threads that I started myself?

I just want to get emails of new posts in my ówn Threads in the support forum. It still does not work. I only get emails, when I'm Quoted. Hi sergenl There is no mechanism to get email notifications for replies made in threads You Created. You'll need to use the email notification settings for Bookmarked threads and bookmark all your own threads. Or you can get email notifications for replies made in threads in which you Participated. Of course if you made replies in people's threads, you'll get notifications for new posts in those threads too.

THAT is a very clear answer! Thanks for all your effort!
When 'Participating' also means 'Starting' a thread, that is a very easy solution. I'll find out. Thanks!
Sorry, I overlooked 'Participating' in Settings. English is not my native language.. Sometimes.. :-)
