Hi,
I created a forum and would like some friends to join my group. If they have never been on PB before, what steps do they need to go through so that they can join my discussion board (forum)?
Each time they try to register or login, it asks them to create new discussion boards...
What are they doing wrong?
Steps please...
Thank you in advance.

Each time they try to register or login, it asks them to create new discussion boards... What are they doing wrong? Steps please... Thank you in advance. It sounds like they are trying to sign up on the proboards.com home page — they should be signing up at the URL you created instead, using the "register" link on that site. It will ask them to create a ProBoards global account using their email. Once they do that, they will be able to access their dashboards on the proboards.com homepage to view their global account settings, list of forum memberships, etc. Are you certain they've clicked the "register" link at the URL you created? If so, they might be confused about the second step of creating a global account.

drew007 ( Kami), just thought I should clarify that if the user is new to ProBoards and registers an account on a forum, the global account is automatically created as part of the process. There isn't a 'second step' of creating a global account. If the user is already a ProBoards user with an account on another forum, when they register a new account on a different forum and the email address matches their other account, they will be asked to log in (enter their current password) and then just be prompted for the desired username for the new account. ------------------------------- drew007, just to confirm what Kami suspects, it sounds like your friends are trying to join using the ProBoards home page rather than your forum. While at your forum, copy the URL you see in the address bar of your browser and send that link to your friends. Then when they visit the link that takes them to your forum, just have them click the "Register" link to join as a member. Please let us know if you have any questions.

For clarity Scott , the "second step" I meant was after clicking the register link: Step 1: Click "Register" Step 2: Create account/global account (: Edit for additional clarity: This wasn't meant to correct Scott, but rather to elaborate my initial comment in order to align to what Scott clarified.
