Did you take something beforehand?
I'm still waiting, In 2 weeks they'll start with the +70 age group over here and the high risk cases. So it'll be a long wait before I get my turn, probably somewhere in June or July. They have promised that everyone (+18) would get their first jab before July 11th, but seeing the supply of vaccines is running slower as promised, that's not a sure thing Is Belgium doing it differently from the States? Or has your country only just got the vax? We started with the nursing home bound and front-line workers. Then it went from the eldest to the youngest. I agree, I think that J&J is trying hard to keep up (as well as the other companies) but I think all these companies have bitten off more than they can chew. No, it seems the same, but I think Europe got their vaccines later and then they had to be divided. So I think we started a little later than the US, not sure. But it's going way too slow over here. We never get the promised amount of vaccines. You're right, they all bit off more than they could chew. And now AstraZeneca has been put on hold and only a few people will get it.
Last week eg we only got half of what was promised. The vaccination centres were ready to go, but there weren't enough vaccines.
I put myself on a reserve list, in case someone doesn't show up. But again I'll be at the bottom of the list cause the eldest get first serve. But at least I'm trying...

I think our expectations might be a bit too optimistic. It normally takes years for a vaccine to be developed. When you consider how quickly these vaccines were developed and the quality control necessary for doses that will be administered to literally hundreds of millions of people, what we've seen so far is amazing. JMO Yeah I agree, but they shouldn't have promised if they can't produce that amount. It would've been better to predict a lower amount and then having more is a bonus and something positive. Now all we hear is they can't deliver what they promised and our vaccination campaign will only get further behind.

Truly sorry to hear about the broken promises where you are. It looks like Belgium has only 5.4% of their population fully vaccinated and 16.1% received at least one dose, at the present time: news.google.com/covid19/map?hl=en-US&state=7&gl=US&ceid=US%3Aen&mid=%2Fm%2F0154jIn the US, those numbers are 21.5% fully vaccinated and 35.5% received at least one dose: news.google.com/covid19/map?hl=en-US&state=7&gl=US&ceid=US%3Aen&mid=%2Fm%2F09c7w0The US numbers seem pretty darned good (but I'm not gloating). I do hope you catch up quickly and we see the vast majority of all people worldwide, vaccinated.

JMO I'm just going by what Joe Biden told me! He kept my expectations high. And I'm very aware how a vaccine really should work -I'm just praying that I won't grow tentacles, a third eyeball or something in the next couple of years due to the lack of testing. (and just in case -I'm just kidding)

I don't qualify yet, think it will be May or June before I can get it, that is, if our joke of a corrupt goverment can get their act together and sort out the vaccine debacle. Oh and stop mega panicking, all because one person had a very rare reaction to the Astrazeneca vaccine!
They say they have ordered another 20 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine, but they will be useless for the outback as there is no way to keep it cold enough anywhere except the main cities! It also remains to be seen if we ever actually get the doses, the goverment is great on big announcements, (and photoops), but then nothing much happens afterwards!

US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson will proactively delay deliveries of its corona vaccine to European countries. The company said this in a press release on Tuesday. The postponement comes after the United States decided to stop the vaccine with immediate effect after six cases of blood clots were reported. (another delay )

US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson will proactively delay deliveries of its corona vaccine to European countries. The company said this in a press release on Tuesday. The postponement comes after the United States decided to stop the vaccine with immediate effect after six cases of blood clots were reported. (another delay ) Yeah the White House just did a press conference a few minutes ago. In a nutshell: There were six cases of blood clots / thrombosis (one resulting in death) reported out of the 6.8 million people who were given the Johnson & Johnson. So basically one in a million. So they'll pause on that an for now just use Pfizer or Moderna. IF they find a common (medical history) situation between the reported cases, they may resume use except for individuals who have the same medical situation. The pause makes a huge impact for countries where other vaccines are not readily available.

Updated my vote to reflect that I got my second shot of Phizer yesterday 🙌 Same! So far the side effects haven't been too bad. Mild headache, some trouble breathing, the standard arm soreness, fatigue... I hope that's all I get.

I got lucky. My second shot was exactly 2 weeks ago today (and yes, I did change my vote to reflect that). The only side effect I had was my arm was sore (and not as badly as with the first shot) and weirdly, no rash, but a terrible itching around the site of the shot that lasted for about a week and a half.
