Can't stop 'participated' showing on my dashboard

I have checked in my edit profile on both the forums I am a member of..not to display my 'participated' threads each time they get updated. BUT..they still keep showing.  I have 'never' and have the box unticked in my profile. How can I get rid of them? I dont mind 'messages' and 'notifications' showing on the dash...but just not 'participated'. Cheers

joybelle, while you can turn off the 'participated' on a forum, the participated that shows on the Dashboard cannot be disabled. Sorry. While I don't know what the future plans for the dashboard are, I will mark this as a Feature Request.

Thankyou..It is so annoying. One of the forums I dont even go to anymore and I keep having to check in to get rid of the enormous amount of 'participated' showing on my dash...and I really dont want to go there anymore. What if I asked them to ban me LOL! Would that disable the dashboard?? Really appreciate that you replied..thanks.

You may not be able to get rid of the button itself, but if you want to stop the participated notification showing for those forums that you don't visit any more, you could mark all the threads as 'read' forever.

If you go to the forum in question and click the participated threads button you'll see two drop down menus. On the first one, choose to Select all and on the second, Mark as read > Forever.
