Went shopping today and got to my car noticed an item I didn't place in a bag thought that was werid and it clicked in my head I didn't ring it. It was just half a gallon of milk but didn't want any problems so I just took it back and paid for it.
Swear my senses are failing me luckily the workers didn't make a big scene over it I just told them I forgot to pay.

I have had stuff like Soda on the bottom of my cart and walked right out. Hahaha, I took it back as well, usually the clerks look at me like I have a second head of course.

I don't know how you can forget an item. I use a trolley, put the stuff into it, then go to the checkout and put everything on the conveyor belt, and when the salesperson rings each item through, I put it back into the trolley.
It's not as if there are hidden corners in the trolley where something - and especially something as large as a half gallon of milk - could hide in.
Also, if I happen to take an item out of the supermarket without it going through the till section, it would set off an alarm.

It's the barcode on each product that will set off an alarm if it hasn't been through the scanner at the checkout.

It's the barcode on each product that will set off an alarm if it hasn't been through the scanner at the checkout. Those are usually made for special tags for higher priced items each store is different. That's why you see things in cases or tags dangling off products.

Well, not in the UK. Each item has a barcode sticker attached to it. At least in the supermarkets. In fact, they are almost always now part of the label. And you were mentioning milk, so I assumed we were talking about supermarkets. Not sure about small corner shops and such, although I have seen a barcode often attached to the price tag in smaller shops here in the UK.

Yeah it's Walmart honestly doubt they'd care that much to make sure every item that goes out has security on it. Anyway at least I was honest about it and let them know. Now I'm probably on their list as customers to watch out for.

Yeah it's Walmart honestly doubt they'd care that much to make sure every item that goes out has security on it. Anyway at least I was honest about it and let them know. Now I'm probably on their list as customers to watch out for. I can assure you that you're not. If you had been caught not scanning it, you might be watched harder by the same SCO host next time if they remember you at all, but a missed scan on a half gallon of milk will most certainly not turn you into a high-crime candidate in Walmart's eyes unless you become a repeat offender. And no, milk doesn't have a security tag of any kind at Walmart. No food items do. People generally don't try to steal by stuffing a box of mac 'n' cheese in their pocket or not scanning their package of Oreos; they'll "forget" to scan swathes of their cart to make the savings add up to something worthwhile. That tends to be noticeable just by watching them. RFID anti-theft tags are basically useless anyway. The stanchions at the doors are more likely to pick up on the tag entering the store than exiting the store in my experience, but they still rarely do that. The whole system is for theatrics, much like putting an ADT sign in your garden: most criminals won't take the risk because they assume the alarm will go off based on visual evidence alone. (Source: I work for the Digital team at Walmart and our security door key cards have RFID tags that interfere more with the card reader than they do to ever keep the cards from being taken home.)

Wait until I tell you this one. I was talking (and flirting) with a tall brunette cashier who I know is single. I was enjoying myself so much that after she rang me up ($121) that I happily grabbed my shopping cart and proceeded to leave. The cashier said, "Hey, you haven't paid for it!"
I was sooooo embarrassed. Talk about being absent minded ! lol
