Forum URL: theotherfrenchforum.freeforums.netI don't want to delete certain posts, because there may be a need to reinstate them at some point, but I would like to hide those posts from anyone but Staff, with an option to restore them at some point, without ordinary members knowing those posts are/were there, which is a downside of the Post Quarantine plugin, which makes it clear there is a post, though it's quarantined.
Is there a means of hiding posts, and making them only apparent to Staff?

Is there a means of hiding posts, and making them only apparent to Staff? I don't believe there's a good way to do this with a plugin. What you can do, however, is move that post and only that post into a new thread in a staff-only board and decline the option of sending the poster a message. You can then move it back to the thread in question should you wish, and because of the chronological timestamps, it will restore the post to its original position in the thread.

Which is exactly what I've done as a short term solution - great minds etc.

I don't think Post Quarantine would get edited at this point (the person who made it isn't active here anymore) but you might be able to request a supplemental plugin that works with it. It's worth a shot at any rate, I think?

I did wonder about a plugin request, Kami, but wasn't sure of the protocol. I'll give it a go. Thanks.

I did wonder about a plugin request, Kami , but wasn't sure of the protocol. I'll give it a go. Thanks. No problem! For what it's worth there's not a lot of protocol there aside from the usual common sense behaviour rules — make a request, and a plugin creator can tell you if it's possible / allowed / provide you with the plugin. There's just no guarantee that the request will be filled.

The plugin posted here does a reversible staff deletion which seems to fit the bill (it basically does what Kami describes --substitutes move op for delete op-- silently in the background)

ffs, Chris knew it wasn't in the library which is why he provided the link to the post where you can download this plugin. In the Chris's post above click on the 'here' link which takes you to Eaton Bones post. The latest version of the plugin is under the UPDATES heading: "v0.0.3" Clicking the version number takes you to a download page. Click on the blue download button and select the Direct Download option. This saves the plugin to your computer. Then go to your forum: Admin > Plugins > Manage Click on the Import button and follow the instructions.
