Forum URL: swordcoastadventures.boards.net/I'm not sure if it was intentional by another member or not, but we were still using this. I was one of the people running our group. I know one of our original Admins left a while back. I'm not sure if that has to do with it or not. Can it be restored? or can the information be sent to me so I can set up a new forum?

Forums can only be deleted by the original creator's account, regardless who was running the forum on a day to day basis. Hopefully none of you were sharing the original creator's account since that's a violation of the ProBoards Terms of Service, but if you are not the original creator then nothing can be done. It sounds like the original creator came back and removed the forum. It is their prerogative whether or not to keep or terminate their agreement with PB to host the forum, and a restoration request needs to come from them. If you can get ahold of the original creator and ask them to come here to ask PB admins to reinstate the forum and transfer ownership to you, that is the only way you can receive ownership. Otherwise, you will need to start a new forum from scratch. Sorry it's not better news.

Unfortunately, it appears that the forum owner decided to delete the forum. They are the only person who can request that it be restored, as well. If you have a means to contact the original creator of the forum, maybe they would agree to traansfer ownership to you. If they do, this is the process to get it done. support.proboards.com/thread/561014/transfer-ownership-forum-another-member?EDIT - ninja'd by Kami!

Well I'll see if I can get them to restore it then. Was hoping it wouldn't have to be them since we had multiple people running the admin stuff on the forum, but guess it happens.

Well I'll see if I can get them to restore it then. Was hoping it wouldn't have to be them since we had multiple people running the admin stuff on the forum, but guess it happens. For the record, the reason this is the case for restorations is because of the terms of service. The forum creator agrees to the PB TOS when creating the forum, and therefore PB and the creator enter a legally binding agreement on hosting terms. Even if the creator brings on other admins / staff, the only thing those users agree to is the terms of having an account on that forum, not the hosting of the forum itself. Therefore, the only parties that can break the hosting agreement are either the host (ProBoards) or the creator (the person who agreed to the terms). As non-creator admins, y'all don't have the legal standing to terminate or restore that agreement — it would be like if you agreed to lease a home then decided not to renew your lease, but your gardener decided to renew it for you simply because they helped upkeep that property. You'd be on the hook and responsible for a home you decided to no longer lease, because of the actions of another who isn't involved in the initial agreement. Similarly, it would be unfair to allow others to restore a forum the creator decided to remove from service and put them back on the hook for something they terminated, without their consent and explicit action. Hopefully that makes sense and provides a better understanding of why the policy is the way it is, regardless of your individual responsibility or position on the forum. Best of luck!
