Forum URL: Numerology. How can you setup our ProBoards forum, when should any member or staff removes a post, the exact same deduction occurs on both their own profile and footer statistics? Should the thread be deleted, then all following posts which get deleted, again aforemention gets reduced by same number count? This truthfully shows the exact thread/post count.

Hi frigga Unfortunately, the only way you would be able to do that is by manually editing the post counts. You can do this via the Staff Options page on their edit profile page. The post counts are a record of the number of posts made on the forum, and not the number that still exist. Craig

FYI - another reason post counts do not decrease when a post is deleted:
Member ranking is based on post count. If a member's post count decreased when their posts were deleted, then it would affect their member ranking, as well as affect situations where a member's rank is used, such as access to a board.

I'd actually like to see this as a feature. This is the main reason I don't typically use ranks for board access. If I've got someone who's posting junk, but nothing serious enough for a ban, then they could conceivably gain access to a board that they really shouldn't have access to because they reached the next rank.
For sure, this should be an option - where the admin can select to have the system adjust, or not adjust, post count(s) on post deletion. I would not recommend for thread deletion because that would affect all participants of a thread which could be quite unfair for them to have their post count adjusted because of, perhaps, one person.

I added the feature request label to this thread.
