Setting up Groups at PB is time consuming - creating the Group, setting up permissions, designating leaders, establishing joining restrictions, populating with some members, etc. But then, the members can leave the Group without approval or notice. Is it possible to require approvals when members want to leave some Groups? I understand that Groups are not prisons, but if approval may be required to join a Group, approval may also be required to leave the Group. With the existing settings, I don't see anyway to restrict leaving - am I missing something?

I'll mark this as a feature request, but depending on whether it was important for the group to show in their profile or not, you could always set the group type to 'hidden'. They shouldn't be able to leave the group then.

Many time people join a site to see what it is about. Many they found that they are not a good fit, or that it really wasn't what they were looking for. Personally I would never want to not allow people to leave my site if they wanted to because they would not be an addition, they might become a distraction.

The OP was talking about joining and leaving Member Groups on a forum, not joining and leaving the forum as a whole.

Craig, I think that will work fine for the "Restricted Groups" I have in mind. So, if they don't see the Group in their Profiles, they cannot click Leave!
