What is your favorite OS? (Operating System)
Please tell us why.
For me, it's a tie between Windows and Android (Not listed, I know, but still.) Reasons: Usability is good on both. I can run certain programs on each, and they are easier to work with, for me at least.

Technically alot of OS's come from a Linux distro I prefer windows myself due to affordability MacOS is great for productions where Linux is more favored for portability ie android and Ubuntu SteamOS is going to be favored by many due to steamdeck.

It would depend on what version but for general use Windows. I still prefer XP & earlier NT releases.

I just switched to a Mac, but in general I prefer Linux, in particular Fedora. It just works! I like the Linux package managing system to keep my software up-to-date - I'm getting along OK with Homebrew on MacOS but it's definitely a more janky solution.

Linux, the reason behind this is.. quite complex, however, I will say that it is that Linux is so editable to my needs (music/video editing) It makes it that much easier to have an OS that supports those endeavors and programming to boot. Mac is a CLOSE Second, but it is not as editable as Linux is.

I know it's popular to vote Windows, but that is what I have always been used to and it has been easy for me to navigate as a result.

Since getting a M1 pro Mac Book Pro, then it would be Mac. But windows is my go to for gaming. Mac is my go to for web dev. Video/photo editing.

I voted WINDOWS for now. I have a Dell desktop home business computer and I love it. I do have an iPad, which is Apple of course. I prefer my desktop. My son loves everything Apple, but I don't have enough experience with it.

Windows 11 just installed on my PC and now there’s increased CPU usage that bogs things down. Awful! AMD or Intel? There is a known issue for AMD that on the normal user release that they don't Utilize the cpu properly. I'm on the Developer release, unstable often, but cpu is a bit better than it was a few months ago. So that release will be dealt with soon. Windows 11 has so much bugs right now, they I don't understand why they even released it yet.

I absolutely HATE that it wants you to be logged in and that they removed the start button. It took me forever to figure out how to shutdown. I finally went into msconfig and turned it to Selective Startup and cleared Load Startup Items and that seems to have worked, but I shouldn't have to do that.

Start button wasn't removed. still there. In fact you can actually put it back to the left! Right click > task bar settings > align left. But yeah, needing to be logged into your MS account kinda sucks. But then again, I've always been logged in due to the mail and OneDrive. Yeah, not to entirely sure why you'd be having those issues. :/ it's up to Microsoft at this point. It's just so buggy upon user release. Some things are misaligned. Like the maximize square button is smaller than the minimize and exit button. Lol. (Unless they fixed that recently?) But, they're trying to force it really kinda sucks. My grandma doesn't want it, nor wants to deal with it, and she's not technical at all, and my grandpa was the one who dealt with the computers. So I've been working on it and any problems/updates are done by me.

Windows 11 just installed on my PC and now there’s increased CPU usage that bogs things down. Awful! But it's just following the pattern, right? Windows 95 = Bad Windows 98 = Good Windows ME = Bad Windows XP = Good Windows Vista = Bad Windows 7 = Good Windows 8 = Bad Windows 10 = Good Windows 11 = ...

Windows 95 = Bad Windows 98 = Good Windows ME = Bad Windows XP = Good Windows Vista = Bad Windows 7 = Good Windows 8 = Bad Windows 10 = Good Windows 11 = ... Windows 95 was bad? That was my first windows OS as a kid. Lol. It had all my favorite games! Never had experience with 98. But a lot with XP. Vista in my opinion was great. Never had any issues, except for the actual computer. Toshiba everything leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Cuz I had so many problems. Speaker not seated properly. Wires inside messed up for the speakers. Laptop screen went out on me several times, the hard drive died, ram wasn't being seen correct. Motherboard died. All within a year. Then after that year warranty. The mother board died AGAIN! But before that, the hinge broke, screen went all crazy with the graphics. As soon as I got an Acer. Didn't have any issues after that. Otherwise, Vista for the time I had it. I didn't have issues with it. Robyn and I actually were the odd ones out with actually liking Vista. Lol. 8 definitely had an annoyance with tiles, even though I actually enjoyed it on the Windows phone. It was annoying on the computer. Downgraded to 7, then went to 10 after that.
