Forum URL: thehomemakers.freeforums.net/Hi, a member of ours had a computer problem where she had to reload a corrupted Windows, clear a virus etc and since then has been unable to log in to our forum as it keeps rejecting her password. She has tried the renew password option but she is not receiving any feedback from Proboards about resetting her password. Is there anything else she can do as she is a long term member? BTW, I am a Global Moderator, not an Admin, but the Admins seem unable to solve this situation for her. TIA for any help you are able to give.

Hi I’m guessing “Not receiving any feedback” means she’s not receiving any email response? Ask her to check her spam/junk mail folder. If she has more than one email account, she’ll need to check those emails too. Additionally, she needs to be sure of inputting her username on the form and NOT her display name. Might be worth suggesting that she tries to login on a different device or computer (ones previously used to access the forum) in case her password has been saved on those. *When reset links are sent out, they are only valid for an hour. So upon request, she’ll need to use it within that time frame. If the problem still persists please post back, stating any error messages she may be receiving.

Update: Apparently member tried the usual password she uses for our forum but it didn't work.
This is the latest message she has sent me: I have constantly checked spam and junk folders but no password reset is showing up. Unfortunately I cannot recall what password I used, the password I usually use is {removed for privacy}. The error message is password incorrect. Try again. I have tried using {removed for privacy} and my email address. They don't seem to be a problem.
Is there anything else I tell her to assist her being a functioning member of our forum? Thanks.

Hi again people. Happy to start a new thread if continuing on this one creates problems. Member chose to log in under a new username but her old one is still active. She mustn't be able to access it as she can't remember the password. She is delighted to be back on her only "social" page. Is there any way I (or an Admin) can merge both usernames or delete the original and keep the current or access the original (somehow) to reactive it? It's probably all here somewhere but I don't know where to look as I'm new to this . If I'm going to be involved in Admin stuff on my forum I may have to ask for an upgraded position as I was a latecomer.

It may be worth trying to get her back in to the original account. You said she forgot the password, but has she tried using the forgot password option to reset the password? The option can be found on the login page, and just requires that she has access to the email account used to create the account.

Craig, I think she has already tried that but as she had a virus go through her computer, and she's not very tech savvy, it was easier to start another account. Thanks for the option though.
