Hi,
Do you get the same "This Facebook post is no longer available. It may have been removed or the privacy settings of the post may have changed." message that I do?
There won't be any way for you to fix this, it will likely need an update on our end if they've changed how embeds or links work.

Hi,
Are there any other posts that won't embed?

suefb This is what you are trying to embed, correct? Yes, how did you get to that form of the url? I used to just click on the timestamp, and it would come up in that short form (with the fewer characters after "posts/"), but that has stopped working for me recently. Could be a browser thing?

Clicking on the 3 dots on a post will open a menu where you'll find "Embed". Once the embed window is open click on advanced settings to get the URL of the post in the next window that opens.
I don't use Facebook frequently but this seems like it may have changed.
Thankfully this means that the embed doesn't need to be updated at all!

Okay, weirdly, I'm not getting that menu when I click on the three dots of the post with Chrome, and I got the same thing on Edge. But now that I know it's something I should be able to do, I'll try to figure it out. Thank you for your help.

View AttachmentAgain, I'm no Facebook expert but I know that there is some content that cannot be embedded based on privacy settings of the user or group. Perhaps posts without the embed option are restricted and therefore the embed option doesn't show up?

I'm sure that's probably true (like it is on Instagram now), but I'm testing it out on the same post you managed to embedd above, so it seems to be something specific to my account or browser or something.

You might want to try it while you're logged out of Facebook (as the post is publicly available) and see if that makes any difference.

Yeah, interesting that the short-version url shows up automatically when I'm logged out, with no menu finagling required. Inconvenient, but at least possible. Thanks again.
