Forum changes url to redirect.viglink

Hi!

Everytime when i try to go from our forum to check imgur pictuers for example, i get a warning. Ublock has blocked the site because of redirect.viglink. For a spilt second the imgur link looks normal and then converts into this: redirect.viglink.com/?key=71fe2139a887ad501313cd8cce3053c5&subId=6182346&u=https%3A//imgur.com/a/EXX5id3

(it is an imgur page, and takes to my characters tattoo examples)


What's going on? Virustotal said our forum is virus free. Can anyone help us to get rid of this?

Hi

viglink is just a service a number of websites use which monetise links. It takes you to the destination of the link, but via a viglink redirect link. Are you able to provide a screenshot of the message you are seeing when you click on the link.

Oh, okay! Good to know c: Yep, i can get a screenshot. It's in finnish but i can do my best to translate it to you. It basically says: "Ublock has blocked the following site (the same imgur pics/site). By the following filter viglink. com" Then there's options to disable it or allow it for now or always.

I just got little scared since google told me viglink redirect thing is malicious and stuff :' D

From my experience it is safe, and ProBoards has been using their service for 10+ years and there hasn't been an issue, so you should be safe to allow it. You can read more about their service on wikipedia and their privacy centre on their website.

Using ad blockers while on ProBoards is against the ToS. Please add ProBoards to your whitelist or disable your ad blocker.
