Sticky vs Pinned

Not a big deal but just wondering.

Is it possible to replace the words Sticky and Unsticky with Pinned and Unpinned in the Moderator options?

Members are more familiar with pinning from our old forum, the default icon has a pin and unsticky isn't really a proper word.

harryk - you may be able to achieve this with a script. I recommend posting on the Coding Help board.

Thanks Scott, as I thought, it's too complicated to worry about. Easier to just replace the default icon pin with a bit of Blu Tack or gum, people will get used to it eventually.

Yip, I did try that Kami, thanks. It only worked on post content almost exactly like the censored words. Not higher level options and of course not on mobile ATM.

Ah unfortunate; I must have mixed it up with its v4 predecessor which was generally used to change non-post content. Sorry about that!

Also, no plugin works on V5 in mobile view. Mobile users would need to switch to desktop view. This will change in V6, but there is still no ETA on a release date yet.

Adding my 2¢...

I assume you only have a few moderators, so the words used in the moderator menu doesn't really affect the rest of the members who don't see that menu. The Switch-It plugin Kami suggested does change the text in the legend. So you can refer to a sticky thread as pinned:




And fwiw I see sticky/unsticky used other services.

That one works well for changing the button texts but sadly not items in the Actions drop-down menu.

The issue is likely that the text replacements are executed before the menu is even built since that action menu is dynamically created via JavaScript while the page loads in the browser.
You can try the text patrol plugin, which was created to address some of those client-side rendered interfaces.
