Double-billed for ad-free February 2023

Hi.l.I just received my credit card statement today and saw you charged me for ad-free twice? This is related to the January 2023 billing error from you.  I looked at my forum ad free and saw two March 2023 ad-free!  I cancelled one just now.  Please refund me the $6 February 2923 duplicate charge again, and ensure I am only charged once per month. in the future

Please note that it is the weekend, so you may not get a response until Monday. ProBoards Support hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Time, USA (-8 GMT). Feel free to check back, though, as sometimes an Admin will pop on during the weekend (but it is not guaranteed).

Thank you!  Just make sure there won’t be any more billing issues on your end, as was the cause of all my troubles with your ad-free service from January.

Well, it’s the month of March and ads are back on my forum.  Did you cancel my subscription?  For my almost 2,000 pageviews a month and encountering ad-free issue every month of the year, it may not be worth the worry and expense.

Well, it’s the month of March and ads are back on my forum.  Did you cancel my subscription?  For my almost 2,000 pageviews a month and encountering ad-free issue every month of the year, it may not be worth the worry and expense. 

Did you manually apply the credits for this month? The subscription auto renews, but they have to be manually applied to the forum in your adfree settings.

Remember, adfree expires at 50,000 pageviews OR the first of the month UTC time, and once the month rolls over ads will reappear until credits are applied.

Eight Star Music - we did not cancel the forum's ad-free. I actually followed up on this issue to ensure that - as you put it... "there won’t be any more billing issues on {our} end". Other than an action by the admin or purchaser of ad-free the only other action is an automatic cancellation if the card is declined. This is a safeguard to prevent any overdraft/NSF fees for the user by their institution.  Unfortunately I won't see any updated billing details with the processing service until tomorrow to know if this is the case or not.

In the meantime I apologize for any inconvenience and have gifted a package of 50,000 ad-free pageviews.

Upon further investigation of the forum's ad-free, records show that the ad-free subscription was cancelled on February 27th by the main admin. Apologies I did not see this sooner. As I stated at the time in my previous post, due to first of month billing being in process I did not have access to all the records.

Should you choose, you can start a new subscription and I do not foresee any issues moving forward.

Thank you for your good work on this! You probably also saw that I cancelled the initial March ad-free subscription on February 25. I will purchase a new recurring ad-free subscription on April 1. 

And thanks also Kami - I have been buying recurring ad-free subscriptions for my forum since January 2014. But in 2023… lol. In January 1, I saw ads on my forum…with me not knowing ProBoards billing service was down, I bought another subscription, and a day later the original subscription was billed.  They refunded the duplicate subscription, and said it was all good, until February 25 when my credit card statement showed I was billed for two subscriptions. They refunded the extra one again.  I looked at my March 2023 and saw again two active subscriptions.  I cancelled one but they say the forum admin account deleted the second subscription two days later.  So on March 1, I was horrified to see ads.  I had nine years of smooth ad free sailing but had three issues the last three months. Thanks again Kami 😀 for your help.
