Showing 1 Message but Cannot Find It

I am showing 1 new message as of a few days ago, but I cannot find it.  I have tried reading all recent messages and there is nothing new, but that '1' by Messages will not go away.

I note I can Select All, but there is no Action to Mark As Read, rather than Mark As New.  I even tried in TapaTalk and cannot find it.

How do I find an unread message that doesn't show itself in any way?

The advice is usually,  to click on the notification ‘bubble’ itself. It’s  just that some times the number may not clear for some reason (usually a bug), and so to clear it, clicking on the bubble will get rid it
