Forum URL: photoshopelementsandmore.com/Our forum moderators are quite comfortable with how to move posts. I am wondering if there is a way to address a related issue? When a member's post is moved for the reason of creating their own thread the moderator is now listed as the creator of that thread when viewing the board that the post has been moved to. u.cubeupload.com/HMCA/Questionimage.pngIs there any way that the original creator of the post can be listed instead? In this case cjt instead of BillieJean?

hmca - unfortunately there currently is not a way to change/reassign show is the thread creator. If BillieJean moves a post by cjt to start a new thread, technically the thread is started by BillieJean which is why the thread is attributed to them. Not an ideal solution, but the mod could ask the member to create a thread and then the mod can move the that member's post to the new thread. The moved thread would automatically list the moved post first (due to posts listing chronologically) - and then the mod can remove the post the member used to start the thread.

Scott,so you're saying that you can delete the starting post once the post has been moved to the thread? Somehow I didn't think you could delete the first post in a thread without causing a problem. We will have to test that out. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll get back to you later today and let you know how it goes.

Wait...I think I misunderstood you. Have the poster create the original post on the new board. Then move the replies to that post from the other board.

hmca - whoever you want the thread to show as the creator needs to be the one to create the thread. Posts moved to that thread will merge into that thread and display chronologically. If a thread has more than one post, the first post can be removed and the thread remains. Note: if Member-A creates a thread today and then a mod moves existing posts from another thread to the new thread, the post Member-A made to create the thread will no longer be the "first" post, but will automatically sort itself to display in chronological order - which would generally be the last post of the thread. And this post can still be deleted without it affecting the rest of the thread.

Thanks, Scott.....I think we just might let it be. Seems like it may be more trouble than it's worth. I do appreciate your effort to help. Sometimes things are just not an "easy fix".

hmca - no worries. Like I said above, it's not an ideal situation but it is a way to achieve what you want.
