Feature Request: Like system per thread

Would it be possible to enable the like system per thread instead of a global option? For example, a thred for posting video clips makes sense to have a like system whereas in other threads a like system may hinder the dialogue as many users will opt for a simple like instead of a proper reply. No to mention some users may feel ratioed if during an argument they have few likes compared to the ones they may argue with and that would also be something that may hinder further dialogue not to mention the ratioed users would probably feel bad and we don't want that.

Dunno if this request is feasible, just something to consider. Hopefully this is the right section otherwise, my apologies!

While something like this is certainly "possible" in the literal sense, to levelset expectations: additional development on v5 has been put on indefinite hiatus, barring any service- or feature-breaking bugs.

A PB admin will be able to mark this as a feature request, but I wouldn't depend on it being added to v5 anytime soon (if at all).

I would recommend visiting the Plugin Request Board and see if someone could create a plugin to simulate the effect you're looking for, with the caveat that it won't work on mobile or any browser with javascript disabled.

Just posting to add that I put the feature request label on this thread. Kami's post above definitely is correct and still applies but I understand and agree with the rationale for this request, it's just unlikely to be implemented anytime soon.
