Forum URL: (private) Hello,
I noticed while searching my posting history, it only goes back to 2023 when I registered with that account in 2020 and have been using it since then. My other admin acct that I made the forum with still goes back to 2020. I noticed that on another forum as well. AFAIK, I don't have any plug-ins that hide old posts installed. Is my posting history hidden or something?
Thanks.

Speaking only for my forum, it'll only show a person's 1,004 most recent posts. So, if anyone made more posts than that total, it won't show their entire post history. I'm pretty sure there is a numerical limit to what the "recent posts" link will show you on each member's profile.

Hi, I have other accounts there that go all the way back to when the board was created. I also have another forum that I made 10 years ago that still shows the posting history going back to when I first made that forum.

25or6to4 - it's not the date, but the amount of posts. Compare the accounts you are citing and what is the post count for each of those accounts? If the account has less than 1005 posts, then you should see all the posts when you click the recent posts link. If the account has more than 1005 posts, then the recent posts link will only display the 1005 most recent posts. This also applies to generic posts search which is limited to 1005 posts as well. If you want to see an earlier post history for your account you can use the forum's general search (Search on the nav menu). Enter either a before this date value or between the dates values under the When to search...; and your username for Who to search... by at least one of the members. Note that the same 1005 posts result limitation applies. So for example, if you enter a date range between Jan 1, 2020 and Dec 31, 2020 - the results will be up to 1005 posts starting from Dec 31, 2020 backwards.

Btw, Scott , it doesn't seem to apply to other forums. On my other forum that I made in 2013, the post history of all the members is there from all the way back to 2013, regardless of post count. The reason I wanted to know about it is because there was a post I remembered from when I first created my forum that I wanted to highlight, and I can't find it even with the Search, because the history doesn't go back far enough. I made the forum in 2020, and the Search goes back only as far as 2021. There is a plug-in that hides posts older than a certain date (which I don't have), so I don't know why posts would be gone even as recently as a year ago.

Btw, Scott , it doesn't seem to apply to other forums. On my other forum that I made in 2013, the post history of all the members is there from all the way back to 2013, regardless of post count. It does apply to all forums because it is hard-coded into the software. The maximum posts displayed in a search is 1005. The only thing I didn't clarify previously is that unless it's manually altered by the admin (or staff with power) - a member's post count will not automatically decrease if a post they made is deleted. So technically it is possible to have a member with a 1050 post count have all their posts display in a search if 50 of the posts they made have been deleted (1050-50=1000 actual posts). If you created the forum in 2020, all your posts are there (except ones since deleted, of course), and are accessible via search. It's possible the forum may need a post reindex, or the search word(s) being used is not in the post or indexed. If the plugin you refer to is Hide Older Threads, this does not hide the threads from the main admin, nor does affect the member's recent posts search or any post search. If the goal is to find an older post of yours, I'll be happy to assist you. Since you have your forum marked as private for this thread, feel free to PM me with information pertaining to the post (account username, and post keywords).

Scott, how is the limit applied to Recent Threads? On this Support site, there are 493,861 threads. Each page of Recent Threads has 30 threads, and there are 34 pages, so 30 x 34 = 1,020 threads. On another site with 2,871 threads, 40 threads per page, and 25 pages, the max seems to be 40 x 25 = 1,000 threads. So, the limit on threads seems to be around 1,000, but I am curious about the official number?

The amount per page can be adjusted in the admin panel (Admin>Settings>Forum Settings I think). Usually if you check the last page it won't be full since the cutoff should be 1000.
