Not able to send a message to another user

I'm trying to send a message to a user from this forum below, but whenever I click on "Create A Message", the recipient part immediately goes blank after adding in the user's name. Is there any way to rectify this situation?

Have you tried you clicking the Send Message option in that user's profile? Does it do the same thing if you use that method.

honey88 - when you say: I click on "Create A Message" - is this the button in the title bar, or the create message button in the lower-right corner (after you type out the message)?

No, I don't see the "Send Message" option anywhere on that person's profile.

No, I don't see the "Send Message" option anywhere on that person's profile.

It should be in the top right hand corner of the profile box.

When you type their name in to the recipient box, do you get the drop down options of members to select from?

Is the issue only with this one member? Are you able to PM other members?

I tried to see if I could message other members as well, but it doesn't work that way either.

Yes, but when I click on "create a message", the recipient box goes back to blank.

I can not replicate that behaviour. Could i ask, which member are you trying to send the message to, and if you have n alternate browser installed on your device, of you try to send a message in that browser, do you experience the same issue?

Are you a new member of the forum? They could have a minimum post requirement before you can PM anyone. Although, I'm not sure what behavior you'd encounter if that's the case.

Looking closer at the forum, bigballofyarn is correct (thanks!). The forum has a minimum post count requirement before a member is allowed to message other members. You have not reached that post count yet.

Scott , Craig, and bigballofyarn , I got a response from the Administrator of that forum, and he said that I need 50 posts to create pms. You guys can close this thread now. Thanks for the helpful suggestions.

I have just one final tip for you. I'm not implying that you would do this. I'm just telling you to not spam them to superficially increase your post count. Bigger forums are likely to be willing to ban people quickly, and/or to revoke PM capabilities altogether. Let the 50 posts come naturally. Show good forum behavior. Engage in real topics.
