Member cannot access board

I have just found out that one of my members (I have had a small private board for about 20 years) cannot now log in.

They get this message: "Requested host does not match the Subject Alternative Names (SANs) on TLS certificate in use with this connection" - and then no access to the log in page.

I have had a good look around the Support Board before posting this question. Am I correct in thinking that this may be a local issue and nothing to do with Proboards? If yes, what should they do?

Confusingly - and this may be irrelevant - when I open a new tab in my browser and type in the full address of my board, Google results in nothing whatsoever, which is very unusual.

I can access my board - it is bookmarked. I am very reluctant to log out in case I can't log back in again!

Yes this does seem to be an issue at the user's end.

Here's some things to share with your member:

• Make sure they are using the full URL (that includes proboards.com)
• Make sure they are not adding "www" to the URL
• Have them try a different browser, if possible
• Are they able to log in to their dashboard (https://proboards.com) and access the forum that way?
• Are they using any security extensions or apps?  Try temporarily disabling.

I see the forum is in Maintenance Mode.  Search engines will not index the forum so most likely this is the cause.  Additionally this could also be a result of your browser settings

I have been trying to communicate this to the member who is in a different time zone, and atm we are restricted to text messages (which are less than optimal).

I'll get back to you with any updates. Maybe rebooting their router would help? (Just guessing...)

Re: Google's non display, that didn't used to be the case. Maybe Google have changed their protocols in the last few years, but I realise that that's not your problem.

Possibly.

Also deleting the browser's cache and cookies might as well (Note: this will log them out of any site they are logged into).

Is it that your forum doesn't show on a search page or that it doesn't appear in the dropdown selection as you type in the URL?
