Can't post to threads in Proboards forums when using Opera

Please note that the message below was first attempted using my Opera browser. But the problem described happened again when trying to post here in the support forum, which must mean it's some problem with Opera > Proboards. I am now writing this in my Brave browser.

The problem is not with the forum, but with Opera I think.



When I try to post on any thread on the forum in Opera, the browser counter just goes round and round but nothing happens.

But if I try to post in the same thread using Brave, the post goes through right away.



I am wondering if I will be able to post this, since I'm using Opera to write it.



Thanks in advance for any insight. I would like to get back to using my preferred browser on my preferred forum!

bixaorellana - do you have any extension running in Opera? Also do you have the block ads option enabled?

Scott, I turned off all extensions including Opera's block ads to test if that might be the problem. It made no difference.

Opera had an update on July 29. When I posted here, I was wondering if anyone else would say the same problem happened after the update.

Though Opera is not on our list of support browsers, it is based on Chromium (as is Chrome, Edge, and even Brave), so there really shouldn't be an issue. At first guess, it would appear to be an issue with how your Opera is configured.

I see you are a member of other forums hosted by us. Is anyportinastorm.proboards.com the only one you are having an issue with when using Opera?

On a side note, please do not block ads with our service as this is a TOS violation. Ads pay for the forums and keeps the cup o'noodles in my cupboard.

If you wish to keep the block ads on, then please whitelist us. In opera you can do this by adding our domains under Settings > Block Ads > Manage Exceptions:

[*.]freeforums.net
[*.]boards.net
On Brave, please disable the Trackers and ads blocking.

I tried to post on the meetingpot proboards forum and had exactly the same problem.

I'm writing this response in Opera. Let's see if it will post or not.

Hmmm. I have Opera installed and am unable to reproduce the issue. All my postings work.

Please try to make a post again and when it stall can you please open the Inspect (shift+control+i), then click on the 'Console' tab at the top. Can you take a screenshot of that area (including all warnings and/or what ever is listed there) and post here.
