Forum URL: jeanneau349.freeforums.net/I pay $3 per month for the forum storage and my credit card is expiring. I have cancelled the subscription as advised on this support board but can't find how to renew the storage subscription. How do I do this?

Hi There are a few different storage options. For example, attachments. Which one were you utilising?

Hi Craig. I'm not certain but I think it was for attachments storage. The next invoice is #12496 for $3 per month and is due on August 27. Maybe you can look that up. I want the same arrangement but need to provide a different credit card as the old one was about to expire. Most on-line subscriptions allow for the payment method to be updated but apparently your system only works by cancelling the subscription and starting anew which is quite frustrating (if I am allowed to say that 'in a constructive manner').

BTW, I would also like to know how to re-subscribe so as to dovetail with the subscription that I just cancelled which presumably is good until August 27. Thanks.

Great. If you head in to your forum's admin area, and then Upgrades > File Storage and under the Attachments section, click on the 'Increase Storage' button. You should be able to set up a new subscription for the attachments there. If you run in to any issues, let us know

Here are my issues. There is no Attachments section or 'Increase Storage' button under Upgrades > File Storage. Here is a screen shot.
And when I click on Subscriptions, this is what I get:

pintabay - I see you have more than one account on the forum. Make sure you are logged into the main account (username: admin).

Maybe this is the problem. I have two log-ins. One as Forum Moderator and another, which I never use, as Admin. Logging in as Admin, I see a bigger dashboard with a lot more buttons.
I will try following that File Storage button and see how I get on.
But it seems wrong that as Moderator I can cancel a subscription yet be unable to re-subscribe. Just sayin'.

Thanks. That seems to have worked.
I can only hope that the billing will be adjusted for a subscription cancelled three weeks before it expired or that the new subscription will not commence until the pre-paid month expires.
No big deal but this is a very clunky process for a simple credit card expiry date issue IMHO.
Thanks for the assistance. Back to running a forum.

pintabay, You are not cancelling the subscription as a moderator. You are cancelling it as you, since you cancelled the subscription from the PB dashboard. This is where both your moderator and admin accounts are tied to your master Global Account. A user's global account can cancel any subscription they started. However since subscriptions need to apply to a specific forum, they can only be started (subscribed to) from within the forum. Since you are the only forum member in the moderator group, you could give yourself the power to manage (and start) subscriptions from your moderator account if you wish.

Hi Scott. Thanks but I'm afraid that's still very confusing, at least for me. The fact remains that when I was first logged in, I could cancel a storage subscription but could not renew it, thereby leaving the forum vulnerable for the other 750 users.
What I hope comes from this interaction is
(a) That ProBoards might recognise that there should be a simple way of updating a subscription payment method and make a software improvement to fix that, particularly as everyone's credit card has an expiry date. (I just updated my Strava subscription, for example, in 3 minutes compared to the hour spent on this exercise.)
and
(b) That you might be able to confirm what I have now asked three times - which is whether the subscription that I have just cancelled and renewed will run seamlessly without double payment for the overlapping three week period between now and the date to which it was previously paid up to. I know it's only the cost of a cup of coffee but it's the principle that matters.
Cheers. pintabay

pintabay - apologies for missing your question. The charger for restarting your storage plan did charge immediately causing an overlap in payment. I have refunded the $3 overlap payment. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
