Whitelisting A Discord Bot

Hello, we are the owners of The Kantas Expanse forum and we use a Discord bot called MonitoRSS (https://monitorss.xyz) to post links to new threads on the forum to our Discord server.



The forum feed for the bot stopped working last Tuesday. We got in touch with the bot's support team and they think it might be because ProBoards has blocked the bot. Could we confirm this and, if it's true, request that ProBoards whitelist the bot? We've been using this bot for a few years now and rely on it to keep Discord members up-to-date with the forum.



The bot's hostname contains the subdomain *.monitorss.xyz and its IP address is 44.206.146.39.

What actions was the bot performing on your forum? Was it making posts? Was it doing something else?

- here's an example of the end result

It parses the RSS feed so that when a new thread is created on the forum, it posts the link to the thread on our Discord in a particular channel.

Hi there, I help Andy with managing the forum and the Discord. I've put our forum's RSS feed url (thekantasexpanse.boards.net/rss/public/) into online RSS feed validators and I'm consistently getting Error 406 in response.

Perhaps it's naught to do with the bot itself but the forum's RSS feed has gone wrong somehow? Even though viewing the feed itself seems fine; it's up-to-date and everything.

Hi Scott, thanks for getting back to us, but the bot still doesn't recognise thekantasexpanse.boards.net/rss/public/ as a valid feed.

Sorry Chris but the bot still doesn't accept the RSS URL as valid, and I see this message in the validator:

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

That message explicitly says that the feed is valid.

Well the bot wouldn't accept the feed URL yesterday, but I checked again just now and it's working. All resolved now, thanks.
