Forum URL: (private) Dear Support, Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I did have a look but couldn't find anything relevant. I help run a gliding club and am experimenting with: - enabling Instructors to add forum threads saying whether flying is on or off on a particular date
- allowing quick responses from club members to say who is coming
I'd like the instructors to be able to create threads along the following lines and for them to be ranked in date order (latest at the top). 12/08/24 - Good flying looking likely11/08/24 - Flying cancelled due to poor weather1 0/07/24 - Weather uncertain, probably a circuit day.. quick response 1 .. quick response 2 .. quick response n Threads could be added at any time depending on when our volunteer instructors become available so I can't rely on the date posted to get the threads in date order. For this to work, I think I need the threads to show in chronological order based on a date in the thread subject or other relevant field. Is there any way of doing this please? Many thanks Dave

flyinghigh - Threads are ordered chronological based on the date of the last post made to the thread. Newly created threads appear at the top of the thread list. When a thread is replied to (new post added), that bumps that thread then to the top of the thread list. The idea here is that threads with recent activity are at the forefront for viewing. However, if the threads are set to falling or the board's default is set to falling, then threads will not bump (move) when a new post is added. This is the closest to what you are trying to achieve. On a falling enabled board, you will need to organize any existing threads into the order you want (and make sure they are set to falling). But also please note that new threads are still added to the top of the list, and so the list will still need to be adjusted when this happens to keep them in the date order you want.
